A special nature experience in the middle of the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE
The Thalerhof is located at the foot of the Monte Cavone or Tschafon. Already in the Bronze Age, this area was inhabited, as the nearby, artificially built "Thalerbühl" proves. Around this artificially heaped and man-made fortification interesting finds from the Bronze Age were brought to light during excavations of the University of Padua.
Hiking
From our farmhouse, you can easily go for hiking without using your car. Alternatively, you can also take the hiking bus that carries you to interesting starting points for hikes around the Catinaccio and the Sciliar. A short walk will take you to the center of Tiers in 10 minutes.
Hiking suggestion: Monte Cavone
Leave your car and head for the Monte Cavone with its summit Völseggspitze right after a sumptuous breakfast.
Follow the red and white markings on trail no. 4 (the yellow markings indicate forest plots). Walk past the small chapel consecrated to Saint Sebastian in memory of the Black Plague and you get to the Wuhnleger, a meadow next to a small pond, which also offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Catinaccio. Then the trail proceeds a bit steeper uphill towards the alpine hut Monte Cavone.
It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the hut. If you are not satisfied, you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the glaciers of the Ortler Group, the Ötztal and Stubai Alps from the Völseggspitze (approx. 45 min. walking time).
The entire Catinaccio-group and the Dolomites (UNESCO World Natural Heritage) is a unique hiking paradise.

Tires at the Catinaccio offers a variety of rock climbing opportunities. As a passionate mountaineer and climber, I have been able to realize a large number of first ascents in recent years. Free climbing

Bike
There are over 100 varied MTB Transalp tours in the region Sciliar-Catinaccio to choose from. On the way there, you will cross the Sciliar-Catinaccio nature reserve with its impressive rocks. Directly above our house passes a varied tour that you can ride on the way through the Alps.

If you like biking, then Carezza is a must! Just 15 minutes from Tires, there is a bike trail in the middle of the Dolomites: the bike trail through the wild Niger valley!

To play golf in the Dolomites is a unique nature experience. Peace, idyll and alpine enjoyment for professional and amateur golfers on breath-taking golf courses in the middle of the Dolomites can be found at the Golfclub St. Vigil in Siusi and the Golfclub Carezza.
